Autumn Hues

Because I'm not the least bit ready for fall to end (um it snowed yesterday?!), I wanted to take a moment and feature one of my favorite outfits that is a staple for me in this versatile season.

When the weather is just cool enough to need some help keeping warm, my quilted excursion vest is the perfect thing to do the trick. When paired with a light weight cotton button down, it allows breathing room for days when you are constantly going from varying outside & inside temps.

In my opinion, nothing adds a little somethin' something' to a casual outfit like a statement necklace. My go-to place to splurge on this jewelry accessory is J. Crew (similar look here). Their seasonal sales can be a great way to snag a great piece at a great price.

Having a petite frame causes issues when picking the perfect cross body bag. If the bag is too big, it'll swallow your profile; also, the strap has to hit at the hip for the most walking comfort. I chose this Rebecca Minkoff cross body (newer version here) because it rests at hips length, without needing to be shortened, as well as still being extremely dynamic in it's design.

A simple riding boot pulls it all together by keeping it simple & my gold watch ties in the gold accents of my necklace and bag hardware. My outfit contains a lot of tan, which can become a very blah color in abundance. To counter this I chose a bunch of different shades of the same tan color group. In doing so, my look seems mismatched on purpose for a more lively color palate.
