Tone It Up: Bikini Series

Happy Monday beach babes! Today I'm sharing with you my favorite workout regimen to get beach body ready by the first day of summer! Its the annual Bikini Series created by Karena and Katrina of Tone It up! 

This is my second annual bikini series I am partaking in from Tone It Up and I'm so excited to start it up again. You may have heard of Karena and Katrina if you watched their show Toned Up on Bravo. The best part of their work out programs is THEY'RE FREE :). The first day/week of this years Bikini Series starts today. So if you want to join me on this amazing work out adventure, sign up here and check in with me. We can motivate each other to make sure the work outs get done. I know I'll need to the support and motivation to keep on going through! Once you sign up, every week you'll receive your weekly schedule of workouts. The goal of this program is to get you bikini ready by the first day of summer (June 21, 2014). I'm not only using it to get bikini ready, but also birthday body ready since my birthday weekend is the end of this program :). Black & White Love Affair

Happy hump dayyyyyyy love bugs! I have a seriously obsession/love affair with black and white together. Its so bad that if you were to take a look in to my closet, you'd find more black and white than all colors combined. But they're classic colors that you can never go wrong with. I love it because they're simple and flattering, but you can also spice it up with pops of color if you choose.

I chose to keep it simple and stick to just black and white. I found both my skirt and shoes at Zara while shopping with my brother Ryan. He is actually the one who found the shoes and made me try them on. Lets just say I didn't want to take them off after that. I have a new found love for Zara and have a feeling I'll be shopping there a lot more often. I paired my skirt with a leather BCBG tank and Steve Madden shoulder bag. To top off my look I added a turban esq. Pink Pewter head piece (soon to be for sale on the blog with many other fun surprises).

Washed and Worn

In case you couldn't tell, I've been really into denim lately (vests, shirts, pants, jackets...you get the picture) and although I'm always looking for great new pieces to add to my growing collection, this one jacket has been a go-to of mine for a while. You know the saying an oldie but a goodie? Well this defiantly fits that and although sometimes I cringe at the thought of how much Abercrombie and Fitch I used to wear back in the day, I still think this Abercrombie and Fitch jean jacket was one of the brighter moments in my fashion history. It's acid wash look keeps it very vintage which is my favorite look for denim (if it doesn't look worn and comfy, I'm not buying it). I also like a piece that can be dressed up or down, and in this case, I used the opportunity of going to the theatre later that day to make it more dressy. It didn't hurt that I had on one of our lovely Pink Pewter head bands to spice up my look (P.S. it and others will be up on the blog soon for sale!) We just love the Pink Pewter brand and can't wait to share our up and coming shop with you all! (spoiler alert: we have a lot of new concepts popping up in the coming weeks so stay tuned)

Other than that, we hope everyone enjoyed the amazing almost 80 (YES 80!) degrees this past weekend. I like to think it was cause of our wishful thinking, so keep the warm thoughts a comin'!

White Flare

Its friday, friday, gotta get down on friday. Everyone's looking forward to the weekend, weekend (a little Rebecca Black throwback). Today is a fabulous friday. Matt is back in town for the long weekend and we are finally going to go on a segway tour of the city. We've been trying to do this forever now and I'm so excited!

Now for some friday fashion. I've been loving the whole white on white look lately. However, I wanted to switch it up from the normal white skinny jeans. The flare at the bottom of my jeans gives my look just enough personality without being too much. Since I was wearing white from head to toe (including my sunnies that I was gifted for Valentine's Day) I decided to break up the look with this light wash denim vest. Matts mom got this Rock & Republic vest for me last summer to match hers and its definitely my favorite.

Floral Print

Happy spring peeps! (Just kidding) spring has only really lasted a couple days here in Chicago, granted we'll take what we can get, but come on! I kid you not, this day when from a beautiful 60 degrees to a foggy and rainy (even snowy) 40 degrees in a matter of 20 minutes. Whats a girl gotta do to get a decent day of weather for a photog?! I guess I can't really argue given that the fog made for a cool effect, however I'd love for the 60 degrees to stick around. 

I decided to dress to my mood and wear a floral print in hopes it would take my mind off the actual weather around me. I love Zara and could not pass up these casual yet structured trousers they have. They are the perfect print to brightening any dreary day and flatter my petite frame by not being too busy. I added a simple crop top to allow the trousers to be a focal point. Also, I was seriously loving my beach inspired blow dry by Dry Bar (check it out!), not even the weather brought those curls down. We definetly recommend it for a quick style you're sure to love. 

Let's cross our fingers for a warmer rest of the week!

le Dress Event Recap

Happy Monday love bugs! We hope you all had a fantastic weekend :). Here's a little recap of our styling event at the re-opening of le Dress boutique this past Saturday. We had the best time helping everyone who came pick out some fun goodies, styling them, and hanging out. There's nothing better then a gorgeous day full of mimosas and shopping (we got some great goodies ourselves). A huge thank you to le Dress for allowing us to be apart of this special day.

Get Styled By Pleasantly Petite Event
