5 Things...

Hello there love bugs! I'm so happy its finally friday! We've gotten asked to learn a little bit more about the girls behind Pleasantly Petite. I figured what better way to do this than by sharing 5 things you may not know about me :).

1. I am a proud alum of the amazing sorority Alpha Epsilon Phi, Alpha Lambda chapter at the University of Arizona

With over 200+ amazing members of my chapter, I was able to make lifelong friends across the country. And I still keep in touch with them. In fact, some of my closet friends that graduated with me (pictured above) and I are in the process of planning a destination reunion! We're open to location suggestions if you have any :).

2. I have a super obnoxious, utterly annoying, pain in the butt little brother named Ryan who I love more than anything!

He is 5 years younger than me, but the age gap has never really been an issue for us. In fact, he seems to think he's the older sibling, not me. He currently attends the University of Kansas (rock chalk jayhawks!) and I could not be more proud of him. It's also nice to visit him in Lawrence and re-live some of my favorite college past times like football games and tailgates!

3. I am a shoe addict (and I am NOT afraid to admit it!)

I seriously have a weakness when it comes to shoes, especially if they are heels. Pictured above is the floor of my walk in closet (and that isn't even all of my shoes!). Its so covered in shoes I can hardly walk in to pick out clothes. My addiction love for shoes has gotten so bad that I've had to resort to taking over the coat closet to store my shoes. Oops! So if you were ever wondering the way to my heart, well, its shoes. Get me a pair of shoes I've been dying for and i'll be your best friend forever. (Seriously though, Katie even knows this so well that my birthday presents from her are shoes lol. What a good best friend).

4. My bestest friend in the entire world is my Mom (sorry Katie!)

My mom and I have been through a LOT together. The stuff we've had to go through together is stuff I would never even wish on my worst enemies. But the positives of all those experiences is we were able to get through them together and it only made us stronger as individuals and in our relationship. She is seriously the strongest woman I know, and I don't know where I would be without her today. She taught me how to be the strong, independent, determined woman I am today. She's the best (just sayin)!

5. My wonderful boyfriend Matt and I have been in a long distance relationship for a majority of our relationship.

I met Matt freshman year of college at the University of Arizona and immediately hit it off. However, for some reason or another we never started dating then. That didn't stop us from being the best of friends. We would go out to lunches together just the two of us, we lived next door to each other, we were each others wing people, etc. He even came and brought me breakfast in bed sophomore year when I broke my fingers the night before. Talk about a good best friend. Then our second semester senior year came around. We were both single, constantly flirting with each other, and hanging out almost daily. He started asking me to go out on a date with him, but me being me I was nervous and didn't want to ruin our friendship or start something so close to the end of college. Luckily, Katie & my mom were able to convince to me to say yes to him (after the 10th time he asked).  It was one of the best decisions I ever made. We've been inseparable ever since. But sooner than we had wanted, graduation was upon us, and I had to go back to Chicago and he had to go back to New York. :(. We couldn't believe that the relationship that took us 4 years to finally start was being forced to an end neither of us wanted. We made the tough decision to try long distance out. Before Matt, if you asked me if I ever saw myself in an LDR (long distance relationship) I probably would have laughed at you and said "NO!". But there was something different about Matt and we both knew we had to at least give it a shot. Well, over two years later, we're still happily together fighting the distance with plans to end it in about a year! So keep your fingers crossed for us!

I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little better!
