Five Things

The Best Teas

I have to admit, I was a tea lover before ever being a coffee lover. Although I love them both for different reasons, I believe tea is good at anytime of the day. I blame this in part to my English Grandmother who taught me all of her tea time ways (and why I always thought it was normal to put milk in my tea until recently!). Below are some of my favorite places to get tea around the city, if you haven't tried any of these yet, I strongly encourage you to venture out!

BEE & TEA
Locations: Deapul, 818 W. Fullerton Ave or Wicker Park, 1843 W North Ave,
Now, This is a new one I've recently tried and even if you're not a fan of boba teas, you can ask for it without AND they have some of the best Acai bowls! My favorite flavors so far have been the Chai Five (black milk tea and almond chai) and Mangolychous (Green milk tee, mango and lychee).

DAVIDsTEA
Locations: 1645A Northa Damen, 924 West Armitage, 3530 North Southport, Millennium Park Plaza, and Water Tower Place
I stumbled upon Davids at work on afternoon and found that they have many stores in the Chicago area. Davids is great because you can pretty much customize any order: iced, hot, latte, and even a tea pop (which is kind of like soda but with tea). They also have great tea wear to buy to create your own tea at home, which is a bonus! My favorite being the Matcha Maker.

Peets Coffee & Tea
Locations: Various Chicagoland locations, find yours here
Peets coffee is one of my favorites, but what I love even more is their tea. I love the old school coffee house feel of Peets, and how it doesn't make you feel like your standing in a corporate chain. The atmosphere is perfect for studying, getting work done or just stopping in to grab a drink! My favorite tea of theirs is Lemon Rose herbal tea, perfect iced or hot!

The Coffee & Tea Exchange
Locations: 3311 North Broadway
This has to be the mecca of tea shops. They are a family owned small business that specializes in the roasting of coffee and trade of tea. They pretty much have whatever you could need and if they don't, you can request it!

Adagio Teas
617 N. State Street
What I love most about this tea shop are it's employees. They are helpful and super friendly! they make it feel less like shopping and more of a tea experience. If you go here, make sure you ask one of them for advice on your tea choice, they may steer you to a tea you never thought you would try!

Pajama Christmas Tradition

For as long as I can remember, my Mom has given me special pajamas to wear on Christmas eve into Christmas morning. It's been a childhood tradition that I still look forward to every year. There's no greater feeling than changing out of your party clothes and getting into the comfiest Pj's to sit by the tree late into the night on Christmas eve into Christmas morning. If you have similar traditions, or are looking for some Christmas morning wear that you can stay in all day, below are some of my favorite options.

Bonus: Victoria's Secret has all of their most loved Pj sets on sale! Get the deal

Dancing in the Rain

I'm trying to kick these hump day blues with some outerwear that I love! I seriously can't get enough of this Rachel Roy anorak jacket (also seen here), and although it is sold out, you really can't beat the anorak style for the transition into cold weather (Similar options below!). Because Chicago is still pretty warm and balmy with rainy weather, these *Life Stride Puddle Rain booties are perfect for running errands or walking around the city in without worrying about your feet being cold and wet. They kept my feet perfectly dry and I didn't have to worry about watching where I stepped, a total bonus! I also do have to say, the padded foot bed makes me feel like I'm walking on clouds. The grey and blue contrast went great with my cuffed jeans for an easy casual look I could wear all day. I believe, however, that my most favorite element has to be my scarf. While perusing the holiday dollar section at Target, which I'm a total sucker for, I came across this cozy soft scarf...for only $3! As a big bargain shopper I couldn't have been more proud to have found this. I will definitely be incorporating into my winter wear!

Denim Obsession

Usually I'm all about wearing leggings for pants, and sliding by with the most comfortable bottoms possible during the day, but there's nothing like the perfect pair of jeans. Especially in the fall, denim is a staple of mine, whether it's worn on the top or bottom. Because denim is such a durable fabric, it is one of the only clothing items I feel ok splurging on since I know it'll last me a long time. I'm focusing lately on finding the perfect fit and worn style for my petite frame. Below are some brands and styles that I already own, and LOVE, and some I can't wait to try!

Currently Craving: For the Home

Even though I'm about 7 months moved into my downtown Chicago apartment, I still feel like it's a fairly new space. It takes a lot of investment and planning to get your decor and home accessories just right (I've returned a lot of pillows!). With the gift giving season right around the corner, here are some items that I'm currently craving on my wish list and would recommend to anyone trying to make additions to their new space or even start a revamp on an old one!

Kayokoko Swimwear: Cosita Linda Beachwear

Well hello there Tuesday! I’d like to call today’s post a tropical Tuesday post. I know it's the middle of November but that doesn't mean it isn't time to plan a warm weather vacation. With all of the holiday’s coming up (whose ready for Christmas?!) all I want to do is soak in some sun rays and work on my tan while lounging on the beach with a fruity cocktail in my hand! I’m sure most of you are right there with me! My mom keeps telling me how cold its been in Chicago and its actually been cold here in Los Angeles (okay don’t shoot me for saying that, the high yesterday was only 63 and the wind was out of control). My favorite part about planning for a warm weather vacation to paradise is shopping for new bikinis and cover ups. After lots and lots of searching the web for the perfect one stop online shop I finally found one! The perfect designer swimwear destination for you is none other than Kayokoko Swimwear! They carry all of my favorite brands like maaji, PilyQ, acacia, beach bunny,LSpace and cosita linda - the designer of the beautiful bikini I'm wearing in this post! My bikini I'm wearing is sold out from their 2015 collection but here is a similar one in a different print from their 2016 collection. Kayokoko ships their items for free to the US and Canada (always a plus in my book). The past 4 or 5 bikinis I've added to my now growing collection are from Kayokoko. I promise you that you’ll soon be addicted to this one stop shop just like I am! They have some major deals and sales that go on for black Friday so make sure you're signed up for their email list to get VIP early access totheir sale. It’s definitely not one you want to miss out on! I've already signed up my email and can’t wait to score some new bikinis! I think my favorite part about Kayokoko Swimwear is their wide variety of designer bikinis they have. I follow them on instagram, @kayokokoswimwear, and they’re constantly posting these gorgeous designer bikinis that have me falling in love and showcasing the new releases from designers that you can preorder before anyone else (who wouldn’t want to have first access to ordering new beachwear?!)! When I first came across the brand Cosita Linda on Kayokoko’s website I instantly fell in love. All of their designs, whether it be a bikinior a one piece, range from girly to bohemian. The one I picked has floral print and polka dots on them! A perfect print pairing if you ask me! Florals in the front and a polka dot party in the back. The material itself is also extremely comfortable. And if you ask me, comfort in swimwear is absolutely key! Cosita linda has even designed shorts to wear as a cover up that match each of their swimsuits. I don’t know about you but I love when swimwear has matching cover ups! If you haven’t checked out cosita linda before you need to stop whatever it is you’re doing and head on over to Kayokoko Swimwear and check out their new 2016 collection. And let me just tell you, it’s a good one! In fact, all of the new collections that Kayokoko has released are good ones. I have about 10 bikinis on my wish list from them and that list keeps on growing with every new release they have. If you aren’t already planning a tropical vacay by now, you definitely will be after looking at there website! So what are you waiting for?! Plan a vacation, you know you need it and head to the perfect one stopshop for designer swimwear and beachwear, Kayokoko Swimwear!

Fall Rompers & Jumpsuits

Happy Monday all! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! If you couldn't tell from my posts this summer I kind of, sort of, maybe have a slight obsession with rompers! I've come to realize that my favorite style of clothing can be worn even in fall and winter. The darker colors, longer sleeves, and pants on jumpsuits make them the perfect piece for fall. Shop my favorites below:
