Pleasantly Pinning: Winter Rompers

Rompers in my mind have always been reserved strictly for the summer/spring months. However, after coming across these pinterst looks, the romper has become so much more versatile despite the cold. I am personally loving pairing longer sleeved rompers with thigh high boots and rompers made with warmer material such as knits. Also, throwing a jacket or coast over a romper still gives the same sexy affect while keeping warm. I'm definitely going to use this inspiration to try some of these looks myself, although, let's face it, we know we're all counting down until spring (49 more days!)

Virgin Hair Products

Happy little friday love bugs! I'm super excited to share this post with you today because I have found an AWESOME new hair care line that you need in your life, Virgin Hair Products! As someone who is constantly dealing with damage from coloring, blow drying, straightening and curling my hair, I constantly am on the lookout for products that give my hair that soft healthy fresh cut and un colored hair feel. The idea behind Virgin hair Products is to give your hair that "virgin" undamaged uncolored feel while still allowing you to color and use heat on your hair. And boy, does it work! The first products I used were their color safe moisturizing shampoo & conditioner. The shampoo lathered extremely well, smelled great and I could already feel a difference in my hair. The conditioner gave me soft luscious locks that were soft to the touch. Before I blew dry my hair I put in the Bliss leave in treatment to protect my hair from any heat damage. My hair styled so easily and felt amazing! The next time around instead of using the conditioner, I used the revitalizing hair treatment. I generously applied it to my damaged ends and massaged it into my scalp, then left it on for about 7 minutes before rinsing. This time before I dried my hair I put in the Lux leave in treatment. Again I was amazed by the results, my hair felt amazing, looked amazing, and smelled amazing (added bonus). After using the products for a couple weeks I definitely see a difference in my hair. So much so that we teamed up with Virgin Hair products to get you 30% OFF all their products using code PLEASANTLYPETITE! But act fast, the code expired on April 30, 2015! Be sure to follow Virgin Hair on twitter, instagram, and Facebook too. Happy shopping :)

Furry Layers

Layering is my saving grace in the winter. For someone who is constantly cold, I drag this technique out as long as I can until it's too hot to wear a shirt. It's great for when temperatures fluctuate and you can't decide if you need a heavy winter jacket or not. On this day, it was fine enough out for no jacket, but I still needed something to keep the breeze out. Playing with different knits textures is fun and structures an outfit in a quirky way. I love the blending taupes and beiges in this fur vest that mesh so well with my wool sweater. Also the contrasted cable knit back adds the little bit of depth to this layered look.

Grey & Black Faur Fur With Thigh Highs

Today's post is all about wearing your favorite skirts year round! I love love love skirts and dresses, and one of my favorite parts about summer is getting to basically live in them. So I am so happy I found a solution for these cold winter days and nights, fleeced lined knee/thigh high socks! They go great when layering them under boots or wearing them with booties and keep your legs nice a warm. For this look I paired mine with a fun fit and flare skirt, sheer button down, and of course a faux fur vest! I'm about to invest in many more colors of these socks because they are a life savor! Happy tuesday :)

VOID Beauty Nail Lacquer

With a motto of, "Beauty doesn't have to be toxic" I'm excited to share VOID beauty products and all of their anti-cruelty/non-toxic nail polishes. Their colorful variety of great shades omit formaldehyde, DBP, Toluene, and Camphor completely out of their formula, leaving you with clean and pristine color. When using the product, you see no difference from other well known brands. In all honesty, I am sometimes skeptical of vegan products for fear that they'll not work as well as home name brands, but the sincerity of this product shows. For my first at home manicure with VOID, I used the Game Changer nail lacquer. It is a subtle speckled black that dried quickly without a top coat. I used two coats and it was perfectly layered without being runny or clumpy.  Best of all, their colors are influenced by you and me and all of it's users. My other favorite colors of their nail lacquers pictured, along side Game changer, are a hot pink, Kiss Me, and a dark neon purple, Hissy Fit.

Check out all of VOID's nail lacquers and pick some up for yourself!

Puffy Faux Fur Trimmed Winter Coat

On this fabulous friday (yay weekend!) I'm sharing how I've been surviving the frigid winter temps in Chicago since coming back from New York and Florida. My amazing boyfriends parents got me this beyond gorgeous Ivanka Trump faux fur trimmed winter jacket as part of my Christmas Presents from them. I couldn't be more thankful they got me this! My first day back from NYC was -24 degrees out and I don't think I would have survived running my errands before jetting off to florida without this coat (thank goodness my tan hasn't completely faded yet). An added bonus is it matches my cute little pups puffy winter coat! He's not the biggest fan of modeling for pictures (or of wearing his coat) but I managed to get some cute shots of him! Since the coat stops just above my knees I usually am wearing a long sleeve shirt under it, skinny jeans, riding boots, and sunnies to keep me from being blinded from the sun reflecting off the snow. Have a great weekend all!

Sequin Stripes

During this whirl wind of a photo shoot, I wanted to show off a casual look with just a little something extra. This J.Crew sequin strip linen shirt contains the most perfect subtle hint of bling without being too flashy. Because you can only notice the shimmering detail on my sides or while moving my arms - the leopard print pumps bring the all over look up a notch. I loved it for a day out and despite the extreme winds, it was perfect for the warmer temperatures we had over the weekend.
