Denim Obsession

Usually I'm all about wearing leggings for pants, and sliding by with the most comfortable bottoms possible during the day, but there's nothing like the perfect pair of jeans. Especially in the fall, denim is a staple of mine, whether it's worn on the top or bottom. Because denim is such a durable fabric, it is one of the only clothing items I feel ok splurging on since I know it'll last me a long time. I'm focusing lately on finding the perfect fit and worn style for my petite frame. Below are some brands and styles that I already own, and LOVE, and some I can't wait to try!

Currently Craving: For the Home

Even though I'm about 7 months moved into my downtown Chicago apartment, I still feel like it's a fairly new space. It takes a lot of investment and planning to get your decor and home accessories just right (I've returned a lot of pillows!). With the gift giving season right around the corner, here are some items that I'm currently craving on my wish list and would recommend to anyone trying to make additions to their new space or even start a revamp on an old one!

Kayokoko Swimwear: Cosita Linda Beachwear

Well hello there Tuesday! I’d like to call today’s post a tropical Tuesday post. I know it's the middle of November but that doesn't mean it isn't time to plan a warm weather vacation. With all of the holiday’s coming up (whose ready for Christmas?!) all I want to do is soak in some sun rays and work on my tan while lounging on the beach with a fruity cocktail in my hand! I’m sure most of you are right there with me! My mom keeps telling me how cold its been in Chicago and its actually been cold here in Los Angeles (okay don’t shoot me for saying that, the high yesterday was only 63 and the wind was out of control). My favorite part about planning for a warm weather vacation to paradise is shopping for new bikinis and cover ups. After lots and lots of searching the web for the perfect one stop online shop I finally found one! The perfect designer swimwear destination for you is none other than Kayokoko Swimwear! They carry all of my favorite brands like maaji, PilyQ, acacia, beach bunny,LSpace and cosita linda - the designer of the beautiful bikini I'm wearing in this post! My bikini I'm wearing is sold out from their 2015 collection but here is a similar one in a different print from their 2016 collection. Kayokoko ships their items for free to the US and Canada (always a plus in my book). The past 4 or 5 bikinis I've added to my now growing collection are from Kayokoko. I promise you that you’ll soon be addicted to this one stop shop just like I am! They have some major deals and sales that go on for black Friday so make sure you're signed up for their email list to get VIP early access totheir sale. It’s definitely not one you want to miss out on! I've already signed up my email and can’t wait to score some new bikinis! I think my favorite part about Kayokoko Swimwear is their wide variety of designer bikinis they have. I follow them on instagram, @kayokokoswimwear, and they’re constantly posting these gorgeous designer bikinis that have me falling in love and showcasing the new releases from designers that you can preorder before anyone else (who wouldn’t want to have first access to ordering new beachwear?!)! When I first came across the brand Cosita Linda on Kayokoko’s website I instantly fell in love. All of their designs, whether it be a bikinior a one piece, range from girly to bohemian. The one I picked has floral print and polka dots on them! A perfect print pairing if you ask me! Florals in the front and a polka dot party in the back. The material itself is also extremely comfortable. And if you ask me, comfort in swimwear is absolutely key! Cosita linda has even designed shorts to wear as a cover up that match each of their swimsuits. I don’t know about you but I love when swimwear has matching cover ups! If you haven’t checked out cosita linda before you need to stop whatever it is you’re doing and head on over to Kayokoko Swimwear and check out their new 2016 collection. And let me just tell you, it’s a good one! In fact, all of the new collections that Kayokoko has released are good ones. I have about 10 bikinis on my wish list from them and that list keeps on growing with every new release they have. If you aren’t already planning a tropical vacay by now, you definitely will be after looking at there website! So what are you waiting for?! Plan a vacation, you know you need it and head to the perfect one stopshop for designer swimwear and beachwear, Kayokoko Swimwear!

Fall Rompers & Jumpsuits

Happy Monday all! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! If you couldn't tell from my posts this summer I kind of, sort of, maybe have a slight obsession with rompers! I've come to realize that my favorite style of clothing can be worn even in fall and winter. The darker colors, longer sleeves, and pants on jumpsuits make them the perfect piece for fall. Leather Weather

Another great thing about fall fashion? Bringing out the leather jackets! I have about three I wear on rotation. One is cropped (shown in the picture above), one is moto style and one is bomber style! Of course mine are all black but I want to branch out and add burgundy, white and grey to my collection! Below are a few of my favorite faux leather jackets out right now in a mixture of price ranges that I think you guys might like:

Winter Blonde

This past weekend I finally got my hair done for the first time in 6 months. I constantly go back and forth with what kind of hair I want, hence why I haven't been back to the salon. Because I'm not a true blonde, I need to decide what kind of maintenance I want before choosing a color. I've been highlighted, all over blonde, and even more recently ombre, but I've been struggling to found a happy medium. Pinterest has been a great inspiration tool for me. While relentless searching, I came across a coloring effect that allows you to not have to go back to salon for months. More or less, it's a mix of ombre, baylage and highlighting that gives you color that lasts from the root - no name has been given to this technique so I've learned to ask for a combo of all of the above. My girl Jade at Salon 1800 is a master at this, if you're ever in the area give her a call! (use my name for a reference and receive $20 off at your first appointment!) Below you can see my inspiration and then the before and after from my time at the salon. It's safe to say I'm more than happy with my new look!

Prosciutto Avocado Garlic Toast Recipe

Over the weekend I had the most delicious version of avocado toast! It was so good decided to recreate it and give you guys the recipe!

Garlic Powder
Bread of choice (I like french bread because it gets nice and crispy)

1. Preheat over to 350

2. Melt butter and mix in garlic powder for desired garlic flavor

3. Brush the garlic button on both sides of the toast and place in the over until desired browning and crispness (like you would for garlic bread)

4. While the toast is in the oven, mash up the avocado

5.  Once the toast is out of the oven, spread the mashed up avocado on top

6. Take the prosciutto and rip it up into smaller pieces and place it on top of the avocado

7. Enjoy your delicious avocado and prosciutto toast!

Buon appetito!
