Hot and humid Summer days call for the always dewey hydrated look. However, when you spend as much time outside and in the sun (with the use of sunscreen of course) - skin can still dry out and become dull. Since the start of the Korean beauty craze, I've had my eye out from some products I knew I had to get my hands on. Over the course of two weeks, I've compiled their best hydrating beauty hacks while using their products.
Peach & Lily Korean & Japanese skincare carries products for a range of needs from nail & body to make-up. I received a goodie bag full of hydrating face masks and skin brightening lotion that I immediately started to incorporate into my skincare routine and my skin has seen an improvement in each coming week.
First up: Mizon Enjoy Vital-up Time Watery Moisture Mask
I tried this mask first due to its name and main ingredient: green tea. I was in desperate need for some hydration after my vacation in sunny florida and this green tea vital pack seemed perfect for the job. If you don't know, Korean beauty masks are a thin cloth material shaped to fit your face shape, packed with product. This one felt cool and soothing with first contact, and I kept it on for about 20 minutes. I could feel my skin hydrating the entire time. when I took it off, the product was still pretty heavily layered on my skin, however after some patting (as the packaging suggests) my skin did eventually soak it all in.
In a few hours my face looked dewy and healthy and lasted about 24 hours. This is a great post-travel pick me up!
Leaders Aquaringer Treatment Mask
Another sheet mask, with 100% natural ingredients. Since the point of hydration is absorbing as much as you can, I tend to try and stick to the most natural of products. This mask was said to help minimize fine lines, and I could see a slight difference in that, but not enough to believe they would be permanently erased just by using this mask. However, if you used this mask weekly, rather than just once, I think you would see more consistent results.
Sea Daffodil Hydro Charge Mask
I loved this mask most for everyday use. I was hestiant at first as it felt heavy when I was wearing it, however the after effect showed the perfect boost of moisture, without leaving me feeling lack luster and sticky. It is saturated with sea daffodil extract and ceramide, which is a key ingredient in creating a moisture “barrier” on the skin to keep hydration locked in. It had a fresh scent that i didn't need to wash off and could apply make up after if needed.
Be the Skin Face Polisher
This was a product that I used in place of my regular exfoliator over the course of a week. It is prided on it's gentle formula and brightening ability. Since using a more rough exfoliator in the past and this was a refreshing change and made my skin feel nourished instead of raw. I am going to keep using it in order to up keep a smoother complexion and give my skin a rest from harsh exfoliation.
