It's about that time when the heat of the summer simmers down and the cool breeze starts to kick in. It's times like these I drag myself to put away the cutoff shorts and mini dresses and fill my closet with layering pieces and crisp denim. Although short dresses become out of the questions with my tan hanging by a thread, Maxi's are the perfect transitioning piece for warm to cold seasons.
Banana Republic's Floral Maxi Dress in its burgundy hues with bright pops of blue florals mimics the colors of fall perfectly while incorporating the short sleeves and slit that allow a flow. Once the temperatures dipped into the low 70s, I couldn't wait to wear it out to brunch. I receive numerous compliments on how it fit my small frame so well.
Being petite, its silhouette is perfect for me, as I am often times worried about Maxi’s being too long. Although you can fix long dresses at the hem, it’s so nice to have a piece that fits without having to bring it in to a tailor and not having to wait to wear it. Many of Banana Republic’s dresses come in petite sizes which super convenient when shopping online and in stores since I know it’ll always fit right.
What I love most about the Banana Republic brand is that it provides outfits that work in both casual settings and special occasion. Although I wore this maxi to brunch, I could've as easily worn it for a daytime wedding or party. I plan on bringing it out of y closet as much as possible in the coming months for both dressy and more casual occasions.
